We also need JAZZ FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS - these volunteers help out with flyers when we go to print, and help out the week before, the day of, and/or the week after the jazz festival.

We also need CONCERT & FALL FEST VOLUNTEERS - these volunteers help out with flyers when we go to print, and help out the week before, the day of, Fall Festival, Court Street Summer Jazz, Summer Jazz Workshop, and other related festival events.

Organization Team positions in this column are planning and support for year round activities.
These positions in this column are shifts either before, during, or after the jazz festival.
Shifts may be 4 hours or 6 hours, depending upon positions.
I agree to the following, as a volunteer:

TERMS and CONDITIONS CONSENT to the Volunteer Agreement, modified February 19, 2018: I understand that this is a volunteer position and I will not receive any monetary reimbursement. I will be at least 18 years of age by my first day of volunteering. By clicking the acknowledgement below, I am acknowledging that I have read this waiver, understand it and freely and voluntarily agree to it terms and conditions. I have volunteered to assist the SLO JAZZ FESTIVAL, Inc. in the above-described project. (1) I understand that my activities as a volunteer may entail a risk of physical injury and I may be exposed to conditions involving risk of harm. I understand and voluntarily assume all such risks of my own free will. (2) I hereby release the SLO Jazz Festival, Inc., The City of San Luis Obispo, its officers, directors, employees and agents, cosponsoring organizations or individuals from any and all claims, losses, liabilities or damages arising from or in any way related to their acts or omissions or my service as a volunteer. I do so for myself, my estates and personal representatives thereof, my heirs and assigns. (3) In case of emergency, accident or illness, I give my permission to be treated by a professional medical person and admitted to a hospital, if necessary. I agree to be the party responsible for all medical expenses which are incurred on my behalf. (4) I agree that photographs or videos taken of me may be used by sponsoring agencies in any material or publications, printed or electronic. (5) I agree that if I fail to show up for my shift or properly represent the SLO Jazz Festival I will not be invited back as a volunteer to future SLO Jazz Festival events (it's a big problem if you blow your shift!).

CODE OF CONDUCT: I recognize that as a volunteer, while wearing my volunteer t-shirt I am representing the SLO Jazz Festival, and need to present a happy, fun, and team-oriented attitude before and during the shift(s) assigned and agreed to by me. I agree to report to the volunteer station (located again by the Adobe in the Mission Plaza) 20-30 minutes prior to my shift so that I may be involved in a quick training session for my post, should it be necessary. I agree that before and during my shift, I promise to (a) not do drugs or drink ANY alcohol, (b) to represent the jazz festival to the utmost in politeness, professionalism, and class throughout my volunteer assignment (and while attending the jazz festival); (c) to show up on time, prepared and properly dressed to fully complete my shift(s) for the 2018 SLO Jazz Festival in order to receive my ticket and special keepsake to the event. Failure to comply with this code of conduct may result in immediate dismissal from my position and/or surrender of my wrist band/tickets to the 2018 SLO Jazz Festival. Failing to show up for a shift may result in dismissal from future volunteer requests (this is a privilege, please treat it professionally as when a shift worker fails to show up, it affects the entire volunteer schedule). By submitting this application, I am authorizing the SLO Jazz Festival, Inc. organization to run a criminal history and/or drug background check, should they choose to do so. I have read and understand the 2018 Volunteer Program Guidelines and agree to follow the SLO Jazz Festival policies and procedures.
