SLO is the happiest place on earth; we all know that!It started small, but with YOUR involvement, good things are happening. We're gaining new sponsorships every day, which has provided the funds to complete our 501(c)3 nonprofit filing and cover the cost of the Court Street Summer Jazz Concert series this year. This concert series featured 10 weeks of local talent, all showcased in a Shopping Mall environment. Our objective: to create a jazz series in a relaxed, mall environment where people could mix their daily routine with jazz and get exposed to something they otherwise would not - and guess what - it is a SMASHING SUCCESS!! SLO Jazz Festival members will also receive special invitation to the September 3, 2011 "Bossa Nova Party" at STAX Wine Bar in Morro Bay on the Embarcadero. The fabulous TEKA , renowned Brazilian vocalist/ guitarist will be bringing her beautifully seductive melodies and infectious rhythms! (www.newbossa.com) From smooth Bossa Nova and Brazilian jazz to contemporary pop and lively sambas, you defintely won't want to miss this special performance.
