The 3rd Annual SLO Jazz Festival is coming May 14, 2016, to Mission Plaza, San Luis Obispo, CA from 11am to 10pm. With the Grammy Award winning Rebirth Brass Band, Grammy-winning Pete Escovedo Latin Jazz Orchestra, Grammy-winning Airto Moreira & Eyedentity Featuring Diana Purim; including John Worley’s Mo Chi Sextet (performing Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue), Steve McCann & His Jazz All-Stars and three additional stages of live jazz music, including two youth stages. Tickets are available at all Vallitix locations, Boo Boo Records, and 1-888-825-5484.

1:30pm - 2:10pm
Summer Jazz Workshop Band - Did you know that Cuesta Jazz, Cuesta Community Programs and SLO Jazz Festival have been busy building a new education offering for students in the summer? We hosted this at Cuesta last year and are THRILLED to further showcase the development from these fine young musicians.

2:40pm - 3:20pm
High School Honor Jazz Band - Featuring some of the finest jazz performers from High Schools throughout San Luis Obispo County, this band will pack a punch and leave you wanting more. We're thrilled to feature some of our finest up-and-coming talent from among our schools! Friends and family, come join the fun!

3:35pm - 4:00pm 
The Cool Notes - Featuring Talia Ortega, Tom Brown, and. The Cool notes play a mix of blues, latin-jazz, swing, and are an enjoyable combo which came from Cuesta Jazz's fine program. 4:00pm - 5:00pm 
John Worley Trumpet Clinic - for the first time ever, we'll have a trumpet clinic at the SLO Jazz Festival. John Worley is an John is a member of the music faculty at Stanford University in Stanford, CA; Hope St. Music Studios in Mountain View, CA; and a faculty member of the San Jose Summer Jazz Camp. He is a member of San Jose Jazz,  BMI,  American Federation of Musicians Local 6 and the International Trumpet Guild. His clinic is sponsored by YAMAHA INSTRUMENTS.

5:15pm - 5:45pm
Toy Boat- TOY BOAT is another band recently formed at Cuesta College. They won 3rd place in a recent competition with some heavyweight college competition against California Berkeley Jazz and CSU Fullerton at the RENO JAZZ FESTIVAL, so you know they're doing it right. Check them out after the trumpet clinic. 

6:00pm - 6:30pm
Umlaut - Cuesta College is becoming a burgeoning breeding ground for new talent and combos, including UMLAUT, another band recently formed at Cuesta College this past year who is receiving accolades everywhere they perform. Come discover this new talented band at the Museum of Art Youth In Music Stage!

Nipomo High School Jazz Band - Come hear this fine high school jazz band perform from Nipomo High School. This exciting band is one comes from one of the newest jazz programs on the Central Coast! They have a lot of spirit, and will help you kick-start your afternoon at the 3rd SLO Jazz Festival.

2:00pm - 2:30pm
Arroyo Grande High School Jazz Band - Arroyo Grande High School has a long lineage of jazz students. In fact, our Festival Executive Director and Founder, Scott Andrews, is an alma mater of AGHS Jazz! Come here their combo perform at this year's jazz festival for the first time ever!

3:00pm - 3:30pm
Atascadero High School Jazz Band - Atascadero has a strong jazz program and we are so excited to have their band close out our first ever High School Band Stage at the Phyllis Madonna Stage in the SLO Children's Museum.
