The 3rd Annual SLO Jazz Festival is coming May 14, 2016, to Mission Plaza, San Luis Obispo, CA from 11am to 10pm. With the Grammy Award winning Rebirth Brass Band, Grammy-winning Pete Escovedo Latin Jazz Orchestra, Grammy-winning Airto Moreira & Eyedentity Featuring Diana Purim; including John Worley’s Mo Chi Sextet (performing Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue), Steve McCann & His Jazz All-Stars and three additional stages of live jazz music, including two youth stages. 4:00pm - 5:00pm John Worley Trumpet Clinic - for the first time ever, we'll have a trumpet clinic at the SLO Jazz Festival. John Worley is an John is a member of the music faculty at Stanford University in Stanford, CA; Hope St. Music Studios in Mountain View, CA; and a faculty member of the San Jose Summer Jazz Camp. He is a member of San Jose Jazz, BMI, American Federation of Musicians Local 6 and the International Trumpet Guild. His clinic is sponsored by YAMAHA INSTRUMENTS. They won 3rd place in a recent competition with some heavyweight college competition against California Berkeley Jazz and CSU Fullerton at the RENO JAZZ FESTIVAL, so you know they're doing it right.
